Product Usage:
LB Agar Plates (containing 50 μg/mL Kanamycin): Primarily used for culturing Escherichia coli carrying the kanamycin resistance gene in fermentation engineering, genetic engineering, and molecular biology. Kanamycin interferes with bacterial protein synthesis (binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit), allowing only engineered strains carrying the kanamycin resistance gene to grow, enabling precise screening.
LB Agar Plates (containing 100 μg/mL Ampicillin): Primarily used for culturing Escherichia coli carrying the ampicillin resistance gene in fermentation engineering, genetic engineering, and molecular biology. Ampicillin disrupts bacterial cell wall synthesis (inhibiting peptidoglycan cross-linking), inhibiting both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as anaerobic bacteria, allowing the growth of bacteria carrying the ampicillin resistance gene, enabling precise screening.
Precautions:
Store at the temperature specified in the product instructions, avoiding exposure to light and high temperatures.
Maintain sterile operation during use to avoid contamination.
Before use, inspect the plate for cracks or bacterial growth. Do not use if bacteria are present.
Operate in a clean environment and use as soon as possible after opening to prevent contamination.
Condensation is normal when storing the plate at 4°C. This can be removed in a clean environment (e.g., a laminar flow hood).
