Factors Affecting the Accuracy of Yellow Pipette Tips
(1) Temperature:
When the room temperature is low, the hand temperature is high, causing the air to expand, and mistakes are often made when inhaling cold solutions;
(2) Air tightness:
The junction of the gun head and the gun body, the long-term wear between the cylinders in the gun, causing errors;
(3) Suction speed:
It is easy to generate air bubbles in the pipette tip, which will contaminate the pipette tip;
(4) Reagent volatilization:
When absorbing highly volatile reagents, steam enters the pipette tip and the internal pressure rises. As a result, when the liquid is squeezed out, the pressure increases and an error occurs;
Repeated pumping 4 to 5 times can improve.
Precautions for use
(1) When sucking liquid, be sure to release the thumb slowly and steadily, do not release it suddenly, so as to avoid the solution being sucked too fast and rushing into the yellow pipette to corrode the plunger and cause air leakage;
(2) In order to obtain higher precision, the tip needs to aspirate the sample solution once, and then formally pipette, because when sucking serum protein solution or organic solvent, a layer of "liquid film" tip will remain on the inner wall, resulting in discharge. The liquid volume is too small to cause an error;
(3) Liquids with high concentration and high viscosity will cause errors. In order to eliminate errors, the amount of compensation can be determined through experiments. The compensation amount can be set by changing the reading of the reading window by adjusting the knob;
(4) The analytical method can calibrate the dispenser by weighing the pure water and calculating it. The weight of 1mL of distilled water at 20°C is 0.9982g;
(5) The method of repeatedly hitting the yellow straw to tighten the straw is very inadvisable. Long-term operation will loosen internal parts and damage the pipette;
(6) Do not pipette when the pipette does not have a tip;
(7) When setting the range, please note that when you turn to the desired range, the numbers are clearly displayed in the window. The setting range is within the range of the pipette. Do not turn the button out of range as this will jam and damage the mechanism.
(8) The yellow straw is strictly prohibited to absorb highly volatile and corrosive liquids (such as concentrated acid, concentrated alkali, organic matter, etc.).
(9) It is strictly forbidden to remove and mix liquids.
(10) Do not use a large volume pipette to aspirate a small amount of liquid, so as not to affect the accuracy. At the same time, if you need to remove a large amount of liquid outside the measuring range, use a pipette to do it.
